I do things because of blogs.

I absolutely love the inspiration I get from reading blogs daily.  Honestly, I don't think I would have done 100 things in the past 6 months if it weren't for reading them on my favorite blogs. For example, these inspired me to make these!

I baked them instead of frying.  Obviously not the same as that deliciously greasy onion ring you're probably used to, but really satisfying! I would definitely suggest if you're in the mood for tricking you're body into thinking you're getting something bad!

a painting project perhaps!

It's weird how often I find myself wanting to paint something, considering how much I HATE PAINTING!  I immediately start the project and then want to paint my eyelids shut and go to sleep. I got through it this time and am actually quite delighted with the final result.

floppy summer hats

Sam and I went to the swap meet last weekend and there was a little shop with tons of hats.  I tried on a bunch of floppy hats but ended up discouraged because Sam thought they looked weird.  He kept saying, "It's covering your face!" and "It's too big and floppy!"  That's the point!

He also told me my most recent purchase was hideous and old fashioned...

I couldn't find a picture of it because H&M online is annoying but this little lady seems to be wearing it well.

Cheesy detergent

I came home the other day and this was sitting on my kitchen counter.  A gift from the boyfriend's mother.  Apparently, a regular plastic baggie just doesn't suffice. 

I know you can't really see it from the picture but she sent us a bunch of ALL detergent samples and decided to ship them in a shredded mozarella bag.

So, every Tuesday for the last few months the men in my life leave me for their Lost story group.  Yes, that's what I call it because it's basically like book club (or Story Club, as Sam likes to call it) They sit together in a circle and speak fondly of their favorite show.  Anyway, this post has nothing to do with Lost. It's about food.  Are you surprised? I realized last night that every Tuesday for the last few months, I've made myself the exact same dinner. 

My go-to "night alone" meal

Instructions: Find whatever you can in your fridge, throw it in pan and mix in some egg whites. I find it quite delicious and a nice change from the rest of the week.

Oh, and then you follow it up with this...while watching The Biggest Loser.

Mantel Mania.

I've been wanting to do something new to my fireplace mantel for a while now...and after visiting a few blogs today, (Little Green Notebook, sfgirlbybay) it's made me want to do something this instant.  Like, leave work and go home now.  I'm shaking a little bit thinking about the fact that I have to wait until tonight. I'm repeating ideas in my head over and over, making lists...that's how bad it is.   I want to barf in my stupid wall scones. This is what I've got going on right now...

(Yes, one of the ugly scone lights is out and I have no idea how to fix it)

I think I need to tone it down a little bit.  I've noticed a few trends that I think I need to try out.
