FOOD THERAPY

This weekend was depressing.  I don't know why, it just was.  I wasn't feeling like myself.  I was tired and lazy and it just sucked.  So, yesterday I walked to my car, uncertain of exactly where I was going to go but I knew I had to get out of the house.  Before getting into my car, I saw Momo (our landlord) working on the garden in the back.

Side note...when we first moved in, the garden was amazing.  There were all sorts of veggies (have you ever seen an artichoke tree? I have.) There were blackberries trees, beautiful flowers, etc.  Then, we had some major construction going on for months and the guys totally destroyed the entire garden.  It was quite depressing.

I wasn't sure it was ever going to be a beautiful garden again, however, in a matter of days Momo has managed to build the garden back up to an even more impressive sight.  I told her how beautiful is was and she said there were multiple types of lettuce, tomatoes, brussels sprouts, green beans....and  that I was able to come pick whenever I wanted to!  She then said to me, "Hannah, gardening is my therapy...I love it out here. "  It was so inspiring that after a slight pause I realized what my therapy was...cooking food.  So, off to the grocery store I went to gather up ingredients for one of my favorite comfort meals.

Chicken Chili, recipe here.
